Golden Plains Community Hospital has recently updated the contents on its website, and made it more interesting, innovative and fun.
Created by On Time Technology in Borger, the new website, www.goldenplains.org, will be more interactive, allowing people to explore the site with more ease. On the new site, community members can find upcoming events on the Events Calendar, which will keep the public updated on what's going on GPCH. This includes special programs such as Prepared Childbirth classes and Diabetes Self-Management classes. The public can also check to see what the weekly menu is for the cafeteria, which is open to the public for breakfast from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as well as check into new employment opportunities. The career link allows people to apply online for different jobs, or submit a general application to the Human Resources Department.
One of the site's new features is the "Our 365" online shop. This shop allows the public to visit the baby nursery, and order photos or buy gifts for the babies. Also, if someone has a loved one or friend in the hospital at GPCH, but are unable to get to the GPCH Auxiliary Gift Shop to buy a gift, a feature on the web site now allows Gift Shop purchases online. Gifts can be ordered online, and it will be hand-delivered to the patient with a smile by one of the hospital volunteers. A list of services, as well as patient information, can be obtained online through the new web site.
Although not a new feature to the site, the Jerry C. Waggoner Medical Foundation feature has been improved to allow for easier use. This link allows visitors to purchase a bronze leaf or rock in memory of or in honor of a loved one. Each purchased bronze plaque will contain the name of the person being remembered or honored, and will be placed on the placard, in memory of Jerry C. Waggoner, which rests on the hospital lobby wall.
Other features new to the site include an online medical dictionary and encyclopedia, allowing site visitors an opportunity to look-up various medical terms and conditions, a health topics tab, a drugs supplement and herbal information tab, and the latest information about the Swine Flu.
Also, the public can get caught up on what's going on in the health care industry by clicking on the "GPCH News Online" link, or find out the latest at GPCH itself by clicking on the "Newsletter" link. Here, site visitors can even see a graphic design video of what the new hospital will look like.
With easier to use links, lots of photographs and videos, and interactive services, www.goldenplains.org has something for everyone.
